Position Overview

Provides system stability and availability as well as improves the system performance through detailed analysis of I/O metrics and testing processes. Improves efficiency, accuracy, and security of the system by automating manual processes.

Essential Functions

  • Implement new server systems according to documented plans and published change control processes.
  • Administer server systems to ensure their continued operations through physical inspection and proactive review of application logs and system consoles.
  • Research warnings, errors and reported issues to determine the root cause, prepare action plans, participate in peer reviews, and document, test, and implement solutions.
  • Respond to requests and incidents in the designated queue of the problem management system.
  • Participate in "On-Call" rotation for after-hours support.
  • Coordinate support and repair efforts with vendors and onsite personnel.
  • Develop recommendations for enhancing approaches for support services.
  • Provide weekly status report updates for current projects.
  • Provide mentorship and training to technicians; promote an atmosphere of knowledge-sharing.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or similar related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Three years of supporting enterprise-class systems and experience. Five years of Microsoft operating systems experience, preferably 2008-2016. Experience with Azure or AWS is also preferred. Cisco and Microsoft Certifications preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to setup, configure, and support specific server systems including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and SharePoint.
  • Proven ability to setup and configure applications utilizing Internet Information Services (IIS) in a Windows Server environment.
  • Experience with VMWare ESXi
  • Demonstrated knowledge with web and SQL server technologies.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networks (routers, switches, wireless, firewalls).
  • Moderate Powershell knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with powershell, preferred.

Physical Demands

This position regularly requires the abilities of driving, sitting, fingering or manual dexterity, and grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Work Environment

This position is an office environment with some exposure to outside fumes, odors, and heat and/or weather conditions. This position also requires frequent travel.
